A 63-acre custom-built facility, Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding (FBS) is designed for new construction, major conversions, and repairs.  It is open year round and traces its history of building ships back to 1918 in Sturgeon Bay. As part of the Fincantieri Marine Group, it is the US subsidiary of one of the world’s largest shipbuilders that was established in 1790. They have three Wisconsin shipyards located in Marinette, Sturgeon Bay, and Green Bay.
