Elmer Engman, our Duluth correspondent, reports that on October 1st in the Twin Ports, it still felt like summer.

The Netherlands cargo ship, the HUDSONGRACHT, entered the port with a cargo of quartz to be used in countertops. The HUDSONGRACHT was built in 2008 and is 452 feet long. She was going to unload at the Port Terminal in Duluth.

The next vessel was the MESABI MINER, a pretty common visitor, loading a cargo of taconite at the CN ore docks. The MESABI MINER was built in 1977 and is 1004 feet long.

The last vessel was the AMERICAN MARINER. She unloaded a cargo of limestone and then loaded a cargo of wheat at the General Mills elevator in Superior, Wisconsin. She was built in 1980 and is 730 feet long.
